New necro needs build improvements and suggestions
I have recently started a necro and need advice on a good working pve build. From what I have seen and been told, ss is the way to go aside from mming.
My current ss build:
[skill]arcane echo[/skill][skill]spiteful spirit[/skill][skill]insidious parasite[/skill][skill]signet of sorrow[/skill][skill]envenom enchantments[/skill][skill]blood renewal[/skill][skill]signet of lost souls[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
my current mm build:
[skill]jagged bones[/skill][skill]animate bone fiend[/skill][skill]animate shambling horror[/skill][skill]death nova[/skill][skill]taste of death[/skill][skill]blood of the master[/skill][skill]signet of lost souls[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
Campaigns I own:
Prophecies
Nightfall
EOTN
advice is appreciated
thanks.

reckless haste on ss.
vamp horrors on mm.
Maybe change the elite for the mm unless the area is low on corpses. For that the most common is flesh gollom. Others involve aura of the lich and order of undeath. All recomendations are just IMHO. Sorry about spelling.

Drop AFiend for Aminions. Drop ToD for Aegis or something (may as well let the minions soak up some damage then explode, rather than you just exploding them). I'd also drop BRen on the SS necro for maybe Blood Ritual or Suffering. That's just what I'd personally do.

It actually took me AGES to figure this out.
A MM works with those 2-4 basic skills.
But I used to fill my skillbar with useless crap like Rotting, Wells, Dark Bonds or who knows what - when I had enough points to waste on a secondary and actually bring GODLY skills like PS or Aegis or hex/condition removal!

Of course!
I switched to
[skill]Order of Undeath[/skill][skill]Animate Bone Fiend[/skill][skill]Animate Bone Horror[/skill][skill]Blood Of the Master[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Aegis[/skill][skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill]
and depending on what is needed - hex or condition removal.
Why?
1. I wouldn't waste the necro slot for a MM in harder areas.
2. I wouldn't waste skill slots for something that will keep ME alive when I run 2 monks. I'd rather help the monks so that they can help me better (which is the REASON why they are there for!). (You know - all those Mystic Regen, Dark Bond - self-cast-only skills that you MIGHT need that one time during the battle!)
3. Because the monk skills are REALLY good and SO MUCH better then wasting your slots on crap death skills we normally bring.
4. It's a team game. I help the other 5-7 people - they help me.
5. Unlimited energy from SR.
6. Because I have attribute points to waste.

Any prot on a necro is quite good. Necros generally won't spec into anything but blood/curse/death and soul reaping, most necro builds don't need all 8 skill slots to be effective, and as long as your team doesn't suck and manages to kill things, will have more then enough energy for the prot.

Okay a pve necro with Nightfall and your not using Necrosis? Eighty damage for only 5 energy is pretty awesome....assuming you're at least rank 8 in Sunspear.
I do recommend using Suffering instead of Signet of Sorrow unless you are specifically hunting MM mobs.
I would rather use Hexers Vigor over Blood renewal....no sacrifice.
